Hi there. I’m Ryan Zander, and this is the website for my independently made apps. Back when the App Store first started out, Apple let independent developers list under a company name even if they were without a legal company entity. So at that time I chose the name Nagaraja Rivers to represent my apps because I thought the abode of the serpent king of Indian mythology was a good metaphor for a wealth of knowledge flowing downstream to the user.
I got into developing apps in a very round-about way. In university, I studied Asian Languages and Culture, and I really had no programming background. I was motivated to learn iOS development to make my first app, Reading Thai, because all the other Thai alphabet apps in the App Store at the time sucked, and I knew I could make a better one.
In addition to the apps you see here, I also built the Buddhist Mantra Mala app in partnership with my friend Timothy Clark.
I’ve also worked on a bunch of apps for various clients at my day job with Iglu in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
If you’re looking for a freelance iOS developer for a project, I may be able to help you out. Shoot me a message at rjameszander (at) gmail.com
